The education department of Andhra Pradesh has declared 10 days holidays for Sankranti festival to all the private and government schools will be remained close from 9th Jan to 18th Jan 2023. The schools will be reopened on January 19, 2023.

The authority directed to the DEOs to see that the schools adhered to the notification. However, the Andhra Pradesh state education department in its academic calendar 2023-24 stated that a stern action will be taken against AP schools which run classes during holidays.

Andhra Pradesh Sankranti Holidays: Andhra Pradesh government has declared Sankranti holidays for schools from January 11 to January 16. As per the calendar, the schools will reopen on January 17 after a short vacation.

This year, Pongal will be celebrated from January 2024, to January 2024 as it’s a four-day festival. Each day of Pongal is marked by different festivities; the first day is called Bogi Pandigai, the second day is called Thai Pongal, the third day is called Mattu Pongal and the fourth day is called Kannum Pongal.

Andhra Pradesh State Educational Research Training Council Academic Calendar (2023-24) has given information about Sankranti holidays earlier. In this academic year, schools will function for 220 days and there will be 80 days of holidays.
